I'm Beth. I'm a 70 year old retired college English professor. I'm not a very active person. If you say activity, I'm likely to think reading or writing or doing embroidery work. And if you say game, I think solitaire or crossword puzzles. This, I thought, put me at little risk of bone fractures. You have to do something to break a bone, don't you?
So when I received a diagnosis of significant bone loss in February of 2022 and was told I could fracture my spine or hip just by bending over to pick up my shoes, I was pretty startled. I decided it was time to pay better attention to my overall health. So I began researching and right away, AlgaeCal began coming up.
As an academic, I was intrigued by the excellent research which showed that AlgaeCal really does increase bone density even in older people like myself. So I decided to give it a try. I was amazed at how much information the AlgaeCal community held on every aspect of health. All of it based on excellent research. I learned how bone density can be rebuilt and what affects it both positively and negatively.
I learned about the role of various nutrients in that process and the role of weight bearing exercise. And I learned from community members who are living very active lives not to be afraid of living mine. Over my first year, taking both AlgaeCal Plus and Strontium Boost in the recommended doses with no side effects -- I also cut out most sugar and most highly processed carbs and I worked up to walking 20 to 30 minutes a day every day. Without trying, I lost 30lbs and I began to feel better than I had in years. I was hoping that I would at least not have lost any more bone density, maybe improved just a little bit. A year isn't a real long time for this anyway.
So when I got the results, I was ecstatic. I had improved so much in both my spine and my hip. I had gone from a -3.0 T-Score in my spine to a -1.8 and from a -2.5 score in my hip to a -1.6. I no longer have any significant fractures, and I'm still living the life that I love, not forcing myself to do things that I don't enjoy and yet improving in my health in every way.

In October 2016, I fell and broke my ankle in lots of little pieces. The surgeon that repaired it mentioned that it broke that way because my bones were so brittle. After the cast was removed and all the physical therapy, I decided to do something about it. I began taking AlgaeCal and Strontium and immediately went for a bone scan in May of 2017.
I was thrilled to find out that my numbers had increased 8.80% in my spine. 10.35% in my left hip and 16% in my right hip. Hooray! I am convinced. I'm so convinced that if I can get this result at 84 years old, what can a younger person hope to realize? I've had three DEXA scans since 2019 and they all showed improvement in the numbers.
The last one I had this year actually showed amazing results for a woman of my age. I had two nasty falls in the past three years and each time I was taken to the hospital, against my better judgment. They found no broken bones. I could have declared a miracle if I hadn't been on your regime of AlgaeCal and Strontium.
Numbers are important because they show progress, and it's wonderful to know that your bones are getting better and better. But at my age of 88 years old, surviving two falls with no injury is of monumental importance. I'm not looking to be able to play tennis again, but surviving a fall is indeed a miracle. I am thankful for finding something that makes my bones stronger.
I live a healthy, active life and want to wish all of you much success in your goals. And perhaps at 88, you will also have the same peace of mind that I have.

Hi, my name is Linda and I'd like to share my AlgaeCal experience with you going back 13 years to my very first DEXA scan, I was 50 years old. It was just a routine DEXA scan.
My doctor called me quite alarmed when he got the results, saying that I had severe bone loss. I being 50 at the time and I had really no experience with bone loss prior to this, didn't really take him too seriously. He did suggest several medications and I just decided, you know, I was going to go on with my lifestyle the way it was, maybe throw some extra exercise in.
So I started to do yoga and joined the gym and started to do weight bearing exercises over the next several DEXA scans. Unfortunately, my bones continue to deteriorate. I went to several different specialists at this point. They all wanted me to be on different medications that they picked. By this time I had researched the medication and thought: “These are not for me.”
There has to be a better, more natural way to heal my bones. So I started doing more exercise and hoped that I could increase my bone density to the point where the doctors would stop pressuring me. But that unfortunately did not happen, and it continued to get worse and worse and worse until in 2018 the T-score of my spine was a -5.
Now I was really getting scared and I was mindful of every step I took. It did affect my quality of life. I used to hike a lot and go bike riding and horseback riding and I kind of put a hold on all of that and started walking the track instead. Then I saw an article about AlgaeCal, and I saw all the wonderful reviews that people were posting and the wonderful results that they were getting and thought: “I should definitely give this a try.”
Of course, being skeptical with everything and afraid to try everything, I didn't quite know what to expect. I started it in August of 2021 and after about four months I said, you know, let me get a DEXA scan” just to kind of see what my numbers are at this point. So I'll have a better way to judge when I have my DEXA skin next year.
And I was like shocked to see that there was already quite a bit of improvement. So fast forward another year and I just had my another DEXA scan in November of 2022 and my spine went to 3.9. So that was amazing. That was at 12% increase in a year. My hip went from 2.8 to 2.5, so that was a 5.9% increase.
So I was pretty impressed. This is just like amazing for me. I always dreaded going for my DEXA scans and now kind of excited about my next one. I'm going to continue on this good route and I suggest it to anybody and everybody that has bone loss to give this product a try. It is truly a wonderful product out there and I'm so grateful for AlgaeCal and the whole AlgaeCal team for all their guidance that they've given me to find this wonderful option to stronger, healthier bones.

Hi, my name is Linda Zarnowski and I'd like to share my story about my bone health. When I was 48 years old, I broke my foot and I also broke my ribs. And at that point the doctor suggested that I go for a bone density scan to see if there was any trouble.
And unfortunately, after the scan, I learned that I had significant bone loss. So at that point my choice was either to take medicine or to start with calcium, and I decided to take calcium. I didn't do much research on the calcium and after a few years I ended up with kidney stones. So I had to come up with a new way to help my bones.
That's when I started to do significant research. And my mother also heard about a company called AlgaeCal. So I started to research AlgaeCal, and I found out that there were important minerals in their products.
AlgaeCal Plus and also Strontium. So I contacted the company and I started to take these vitamins and minerals to see if they could help improve my bone density. During that time
that I joined AlgaeCal, I spoke with bone health coaches, I joined the blog. I read Lara Pizzorno’s book about Your Bones, and I also joined the Facebook group. I found that their resources were excellent, they were very informative and really very helpful to keep me informed on the latest information about how to increase your bone density.
Most recently, I also started doing 12 yoga poses to help with bone loss, and after being with AlgaeCal for a while, I've gone for my recent bone density scan and I had I had significant improvement. There was an 8% improvement in my spine and there was a 16% improvement in my hips, which to me I was very thankful for.
And my doctor was also very pleased with that information. This was the second time that I had an increase as a result of taking AlgaeCal and Strontium. I strongly believe in these products. Hi, my name is Sheila Hoffman. I live in Seattle and I'm 73. I went through menopause at age 45. As you likely know, women are prone to weakening bones, as our estrogen levels dwindle. As a health conscious vegan since 1990, I was opposed to taking standard HRT, as well as any pharmaceutical approach to my weakening bones.
Initially, I used topical creams and over-the-counter calcium supplements, but my bones did continue to progressively weaken over time. My husband and I ride a tandem bicycle and I’ve had a couple of accidents along the way. I have a plate in my foot from my very first bike accident in 1991. This had kept me from being much of a walker.
In 2013, I broke my hip in another cycling accident. I just had a DEXA scan the week before seeing a severe bone loss. While neither of these accidents were due to my bone loss, I started worrying and exploring options online. When I discovered AlgaeCal, I really appreciated how comprehensive and natural the product line is. I began the full Bone Builder program right away, along with wearing a step tracker to get some weight bearing exercise.
I finally started walking almost four miles every day. The combination has been nothing short of amazing. My bi annual DEXA scans have continued to improve over time. I went from “severe bone loss” to merely MILD bone loss, as evidenced with these numbers from my pre accident DEXA to my current scan just a week ago. Nine years after that accident, my spinal T score went from -2.4 to positive 0.7 and my femoral neck went from -3.1 to -1.8.

Hi there! My name is Bev and I would like to share with you my experiences with bone density and with AlgaeCal. I'm 69 years old and I have had a very healthy lifestyle all my life. I've been a yoga practitioner all of my adult life, as well as having a very active lifestyle and a primarily vegetarian diet.
So I was really surprised when I had a bone scan two and a half years ago which indicated that I had low bone density issues. My previous scan, which I think was about three years prior to that, had indicated that things were normal and previous scans, perhaps a decade or so before, indicated that I had very high bone density.
I remember my doctor at that time telling me that I was going to have no issues with needing to worry about falling down and breaking my wrists when I'm 90 because my bone density was really high. But then menopause came along and a number of years passed and I found myself in this position two and a half years ago where I was looking at the surprising results of low bone density.
So my new doctor at that time made recommendations following tests that were not consistent with my lifestyle and my values. They were not in alignment with my approach to health care. So I declined. And instead I began taking AlgaeCal supplements, along with increasing my weight resistance asanas in my daily yoga practice, daily walks or bike rides or kayaks or snowshoeing or swimming, anything that fit seasonally with where I live and maintaining a healthy, balanced diet.
And I maintained that regime for a period of 15 months before going back for a second DEXA Scan to see if anything had changed. And it had. I was delighted, elated, really, to discover that in all measurable areas there was improvement, particularly in my hips, so that I am almost out of the loop concerning zone and almost back to normal.
And that was in 2020 when the second scan was done. So I'm really feeling very strong and feeling very healthy. I have no issues and I really, of course, maintaining all of the same regime with AlgaeCal and with the exercise, with everything and quite looking forward to my next DEXA Scan, which will be in six months from now.
And I'm not changing anything because I seem to be doing what I should be doing and going in the right direction. So I hope this helps you with your decision making and I thank you.

Hi, my name is Barb Gough. I'm 74 years old and I have a story I want to share with you. When COVID started in 2019, we were restricted as to what we could do. So I did a lot of walking. I walked on average between 20 and 25 kilometers every week.
I was quite excited about this, the fact that I could do it and made me feel much better. I had more energy. Life was great. And then six months ago, I began having knee pains, ankle pains, pains in my wrist. I wasn't able to walk. It got to be so difficult that I wasn't even able to get out of a chair in my own home just going to the bathroom.
I had to use a cane. Every time I use a cane and a crutch, I also purchased whatever aids I could purchase, such as wristbands to help me. And I wore these pretty much all day, every day, and a knee brace for my left knee, which was very painful. So with these aids, I was able to move a lot more comfortably, but I still had a lot of pain.
We were planning a holiday this coming October. So I went out and purchased a walker. I thought, I'm going on this holiday, a very special holiday for my husband and I. It's our 50th wedding anniversary. And if I'm having difficulty walking, I want to use a walker. So four months ago, I started on AlgaeCal Triple Power Fish Oil, and after two months, I no longer used my cane, my crutch, my wrist supports, or the walker, in just two months.
I wasn't on any other medication. I wasn't on any treatment program with my doctor. This is the only products I was taking. So my daughter had told me about it. So I thought, it's worth a try. It's not medication I had to order through my doctor. It's supplements, so I'm very, very happy with what I've been taking. Hi, my name is Tracie Hartman. In September of 2019, I went in for my routine physical. The next day they called me and said that I had severe bone loss and that I needed to get in right away so that they could put me on medication.
I started reading everything I could get my hands onto and decided that I was going to reverse my bone loss as naturally as possible. I came across AlgaeCal after reading the research results and the white papers. I decided this is the way that I was going to start. I took all of the AlgaeCal information into my PCP and showed her and asked her if she could give me a year to do it naturally.
So after lots of searching, I began my road to improve bone health. Since 2019, I've been taking AlgaeCal Plus and Strontium Boost and I've also been following the Mediterranean Diet. A little harder during the holidays. But you just get right back on the horse. I'm still working on getting more exercise. That's never been a favorite of mine, but I am feeling good about starting OsteoStrong.
OsteoStrong is an isometric weight resistance training. It takes about 10 minutes. Once a week. I wear any clothes I want to and I use four different pieces of equipment that I press or pull on, either with my arms or legs. And it targets different bones in my body. The owner of the facility that I go to is a certified strength coach, and he educates me all the time on my body and how to keep it strong.
And he also assist me in using the equipment to make sure that I'm doing it properly and safely and so that I maximize the benefit from this exercise. So I know that OsteoStrong has helped me improve my balance as well as my strength. And I feel it's an important enough step in my journey that I travel 50 minutes one way each week, almost 2 hours I spend getting there and back.
I feel it's very important. I know that the vast amount of information that I have gleaned from the AlgaeCal Facebook page has allowed me to determine why I was losing bone. And then it gave me the supplements, the tools and direction I needed to achieve the results that I have seen over the last three years. All areas have improved.
My T-score in my spine was down to -3.2 from -4.3 as of last May. Needless to say, my PCP is thrilled and tells me to keep doing what I'm doing.

Hello, my name is Vicki and I live in Portland, Oregon, and I'm here to tell you about my AlgaeCal Journey. It began 12 years ago when I had my initial routine screening, from bone density, and learned that my scores were really low, and my doctor at that time started talking to me about the traditional treatments and she she also told me the downsides of them, which caused me to research them further and to make a decision that I did not want to take those medications if I didn't have to. So I looked around for alternatives. Over the years, I've taken various supplements, but my scores continued to decline over the next ten years, so it was a joy to discover AlgaeCal. It came out of research. I actually think the first time that I saw it was on Instagram, which is kind of interesting.
So then I got on their website and I have been looking for ten years for something like this, so I started taking it. I also finally decided to start some resistance work. Which exercise has been part of my life always, But honestly, the resistance work I was resisting. So with those two interventions, I've had success. I've taken AlgaeCal now for two years and my DEXA scores in a one year period from June of 2021 to June of 2022 showed a T-Score improvement on my spine from -2.6 to -2.0.
That is an 8% positive change in my bone density of my spine. And I quote, this are in capital letters: “Changes greater than or equal to 5% are generally considered significant”. So I'm thrilled. My doctor is thrilled and I will continue on this journey. I wanted to mention that there are two things that I had to change my mind about in order to get where I am now.
And that is initially I, I think, was a little resistant to thinking that I really needed to have a whole lot of intervention because I raised Holstein dairy cows and for some reason thought that maybe I was immune, just immune to having problems with bone density when I have a calcium rich diet. And, you know, as a youngster growing up, I made all reports about the value of calcium for your body in your bones.
But anyway, there's a lot to learn about how calcium is absorbed as you age. So that I had to change my mind about. And the other thing I had to change my mind about was that it wasn't enough to just continue to do the cardio work that I have enjoyed with exercise. I needed to do some resistance training, which I frankly don't enjoy quite as much.
And I'm not talking about bench pressing 200-300 pounds. In fact, during my workout yesterday I took the pin out of a pile of weights and let it dangle because that's where I'm at. But I'm making great improvements. We all are at a different place in our journey, and I've just accepted that, that is a part of what my body was telling me I need.
So I, I just share with you my success story, you know, hope that each one of you finds a path that works for you. Thank you.
