You’ve probably heard that Omega-3s—specifically EPA and DHA—are crucial for a healthier heart, sharper brain, and stronger bones. But do you understand why they’re so essential? We sat down with Professor Bill Harris, the world’s foremost expert on Omega-3s, to find out why your Omega-3 levels matter more than you think. You might be shocked by what he has to say.

Dr. Harris has spent over four decades studying the health benefits of omega-3s, publishing more than 300 scientific papers on the subject. He co-created the Omega-3 Index, a blood test that’s revolutionized how we measure omega-3 levels and assess risk for chronic diseases. In this conversation, Dr. Harris reveals how omega-3s can be the key to protecting your heart, brain, and bones—and even saving your life.

    Excellent interview!!!
For someone like me, my GI health will not allow me to tolerate “oils” “dairy” “fats” “sugars” “sugar substitutes” “sorbitol” “cellulose” “fructose” most ose’s. I’m unable to take “gel” caps, capsules, or pills as I can’t tolerate sugars which most all pills have sugar binders. I get diarrhea and extreme gut pain which ends in hospitalization. I’m also unable to eat “oily fishes (SMASH), and can’t take AlgaeCals Omega-3 product as I’d have the same reaction.

For people like me what are my alternatives to get Omega-3s?

Thank you for sharing your experience, Mary! Some individuals with dietary restrictions turn to whole-food sources like chia seeds, flaxseeds, or walnuts for omega-3s. You can find a list of omega-3-rich foods HERE.

I also recommend reaching out to your doctor or dietitian, as they can provide the best guidance based on your specific needs and medical history.

Wishing you the best on your health journey! 🙂
