The F.A.C.E. Formula for Aging With Power

Updated: November 26, 2025

Dr. Vonda Wright
An orthopedic surgeon’s radical new plan to protect your bones, your body, and your independence.

What happens when a world-class orthopedic surgeon hits menopause and suddenly feels like she’s falling apart?

If you’re Dr. Vonda Wright… you don’t panic. You don’t pop pills. You investigate.

And what she discovered is rewriting everything we thought we knew about aging, pain, mobility, and bone loss.

Because according to Dr. Wright, most women aren’t just dealing with “aging.”
They’re dealing with something she calls the Musculoskeletal Syndrome of Menopause — and it’s robbing them of their strength, confidence, and identity.

The good news? She’s created a prescription to take it all back.

It’s called The F.A.C.E. Formula. And if you’re over 40, this may be the most important video you watch all year.

Watch the full interview now — and discover why Dr. Wright believes every woman deserves to feel strong, sharp, and unbreakable.

In this exclusive interview, you’ll discover:

  • How to stay mobile, sharp, and strong into your 60s, 70s, and beyond without spending hours in the gym. The secret is a simple formula you can do at home… in just minutes a day.

  • The hormone your bones produce that sharpens your brain, strengthens your heart, and fuels your metabolism. Never heard of it? Most doctors won’t even mention it unless you ask.

  • Why “carrying a bucket in your garage” may be the best bone-building exercise you’ll ever do. Forget deadlifts. This real-world move could save your future.

  • The little-known syndrome affecting millions of women in midlife — and the one surgeon bold enough to name it. If your body feels like it’s falling apart for no reason… it’s not in your head.

  • What your bones are trying to tell you about your hormones, your blood, and your immune system. They’re not just structural supports. They’re talking to your entire body — but only if you know how to listen.

  • The real reason menopausal women feel like they’re “going crazy.” And how one orthopedic surgeon’s discovery is changing the way we think about pain, aging, and midlife strength.

  • The 3 traits that predict whether you’ll age with resilience — or unravel. Dr. Wright calls it “hardiness.” And the good news? You can train it, starting today.

  • And much more…

Great question, Susan! The F.A.C.E. Formula is Dr. Vonda Wright’s simple way of breaking down exercise into four key parts: Flexibility, Aerobic exercise, Carrier load (strength), and Equilibrium/agility. It’s a great reminder to include all of these in your weekly routine!

I’m on my 3 month of AlageCal following a knee fracture in October of 2024 and an ankle fracture in March of 2025 with Osteoporosis and Osteopenia in my foot. I have gone from several broken bones in a walker to finally up on a crutch this week. 5 months after I fractured my ankle. I don’t think I would have made it without AlageCal.

Thank you so much for sharing your question, Bonnie. We’re truly sorry to hear about the challenges you’re facing — that must be very difficult. Because of your personal history with estrogen-fed breast cancer and the complexity around hormone replacement therapy, we’re not able to provide medical guidance.

Hi there. I really enjoyed this interview, and I learned a lot; however, I feel like it ended with really encouraging hormone replacement therapy. I am left feeling very anxious, because I do not plan to do that as I age, and I am actually surprised that Algaecal would show this interview that promotes that as a critical necessary way to build bone.

  37. Jackie

    April 22, 2026 , 7:58 pm

I was on HRT for years, but had to get off due to breast cancer, and the tumor being estrogen and progesterone positive. Although physicians recommended it, I did not get on the hormone blocking medication‘s after the lumpectomy surgery. One of the reasons being I did not want to further cause further thinning of the bones since I already have osteoporosis. I am not taking any medications to build bones but do take the AlgaeCal supplements.

Outside of what was already addressed in this conversation with Dr. Wright, is there anything else that can be done to keep my bones healthy when you can’t get on HRT again?

    April 23, 2026 , 10:34 am

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us, Jackie! We completely understand your desire to support your bone health, especially since HRT isn’t an option for you.

One approach our Bone Health Expert, Lara Pizzorno, often discusses is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) rather than HRT. Of course, because your health situation is unique, we recommend working with a knowledgeable doctor to determine whether this is a suitable option for you.

To learn more about this, I recommend checking out Lara’s article on Estrogen HERE, and HER video about BHRT vs HRT HERE.

Beyond that, along with the AlgaeCal supplements, we continuing to build bone-healthy lifestyle with consistent exercise and a nutritious diet can make a meaningful difference over time. Feel free to check our our Blog HERE for resources about nutrition, exercise, and even recipes to support healthy bones!

Of course, if you’d like further support with optimizing your bone-building plan, please feel free to call our Bone Health Consultants at 1-800-820-0184 (USA & Canada toll-free) or email [email protected]. We’re always happy to help! 🙂

I LOVED yr intelligent and important video and thank you for it. Inam 79 yrs old and I recently retired speech language pathologist who worked with multiply handicapped children. Started aerobic dancing in my 30s which began a LONG series of stress fxs in my tibias, femur (when walking up stairs at school with a preschooler on ea arm) while on Fosomax for 5 yrs)), both feet metatarsals while doing water aerobics (!) and more. Walked 4-5 days/week fom 30s thru early 70s when feet & knee pain increased so much Incld not. Had one knee replacement in mid 70s but knee & feet pain continued so cld not walk pain. Younger sister died of breast cancer at age 49 after 6 yrs of fighting it so I was told NEVER use estrogen bec hers was an estrogen receptive bc. Have used calcium since a teenager, grew up on the bch. Began algae cal & strontium boost two yrs ago and hv had DEXA scans for several yrs. but Have not yet been able to compare DEXAs. Began lifting weights, using resistance, spans, and machines working with a personal trainer about 10 years ago with significant progress, although not achieving the muscle that I desire was just fine finally feeling as if I was truly making some progress to lift slightly heavier weights between 10 and 15 pounds for various exercises whenTwo weeks ago, I was thrown from a golf court cart on my farm in an accident which cause five fractures in three ribs, front and back, excruciating pain still and I’m seeing my physician for that obviously, I feel like like I’m going backwards and now unable to work out as the accident just happened. my bones don’t heal quickly. Sometimes I wonder if they heal at all my femur did not heal for years and when my orthopedist at the time suggested putting a rod in my thigh, I declined saying if my fractures if my stress fractures don’t heal. Why do you think making a hole in my thigh is going to heal? in any case any suggestions that you have for me to encourage me will be very appreciated. I appreciate your knowledge and this video very much but I need something to encourage me to go on cause I feel like I need so much progress but now I can’t do a damn thing and I don’t have that many more years to continue thank you very much and looking forward to any comments or suggestions you might have

    April 23, 2026 , 10:53 am

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us, Bonnie. We’re truly sorry to hear about your recent accident — we know this must be a very difficult time, and it’s completely understandable that it feels like a setback.

Having to pause your exercise routine doesn’t erase the years of work you’ve already put into supporting your bones and strength. It’s clear you’ve built a strong foundation over the years, and that absolutely still matters!

The fracture healing process can vary from person to person. In the meantime, we suggest focusing on what you can control – like maintaining proper nutrition, continuing your supplements, and allowing your body the time it needs to heal. You may find our Fracture Healing article HERE helpful!

Once you’re further along in your recovery, working with a physical therapist can be a great way to safely ease back into gentle exercise and continue rebuilding your strength.

You’ve shown incredible resilience already, and that same persistence will continue to serve your bones moving forward!

If you have any additional questions, or would like support with your bone-building journey going forward, please don’t hesitate to call our Bone Health Consultants at 1-800-820-0184 (USA & Canada toll-free) at any time. We wish you a smooth and steady recovery ahead!

Thank you Doctor Wright! I recently got on hormones, I’m almost 62, 0375 patch with 100mg oral P. I do have high cardiac risk… when I get off hormones if deemed necessary will my bones crumble and at a faster rate? My recent P1NP and CTX is showing improvement! Trying to avoid the bone drugs, I’m an active farmer living in Vermont, no smoking or drinking and eat well and exercise I take algae cal collagen daily. Thank you again!!

  43. Bee AlgaeCal

    April 23, 2026 , 11:04 am

Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience, Sara! It’s great to hear how proactive you are about your health. 🙂

Hormone levels do play an important role in bone health, so any changes to hormone replacement therapy could have an impact. That said, decisions around starting or stopping HRT are very individual, so it’s important to continue working closely with your doctor to monitor your treatment and bone markers over time.

The good news is that there are many ways to support your bones beyond HRT! It sounds like you’re already doing the right things with your active lifestyle, nutrition, and supplementation, which can all make a meaningful difference in keeping your bones strong.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Wonderful and informative video, thank you. Wondering about people for whom HRT is not an option. For post-menopausal women, are there foods that can safely stimulate (or simulate) estrogen, besides soy? Some people have diagnosed or hereditary cancer risks (you mentioned cancer risk scares as outdated but is that true for everyone?) and people who have migraines (like me) who get severe migraines up to 21 out of 28 days/month when on even low doses of HRT, thereby elevating risk of stroke. Seems HRT may not be a viable option even for people who want it. Your thoughts? Alternatives? Almost-as-good options?
Thank you for this very empowering and informative interview.

    April 24, 2026 , 9:56 am

We’re so glad you enjoyed the video, Serina! Thank you for your thoughtful comment. 🙂

We completely understand your concerns around HRT, especially given factors like migraine risk and personal or family health history. You’re absolutely right that HRT isn’t a suitable option for everyone.

One approach our Bone Health Expert, Lara Pizzorno, often discusses is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) rather than traditional HRT. That said, because every situation is unique, we always recommend working closely with a knowledgeable healthcare provider to determine what’s appropriate for you.

There are also lifestyle and nutritional approaches that can help support hormone balance. Certain foods (including some plant-based options beyond soy) may play a role.

To learn more, I recommend checking out Lara’s article on Estrogen HERE, and her video about BHRT vs HRT HERE.
